My first visit was in 1962. I've been there literally hundreds of times. Never seen one. Seen tracks, scat, bones. No sheep. I've seen DBH in other places, like right next to I-15 going through the Virgin River Gorge on the AZ/UT border. but none in JT. Then again, I've never actively sought them out. Saw and heard a Downy Woodpecker on this last trip, thanks to Jake's sharp eye. Never seen one of those in JT. Maybe it's time to see a DBH.
